<h2>Creating a New Version of a Document</h2>To create a new version of a document, click the&nbsp;Document Name&nbsp;in the top left to open the&nbsp;Version Control&nbsp;menu.Here, you will see a list of all the document versions. Click&nbsp;Create New Version&nbsp;to create a new version of the document.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/7b4ffe7612091f7e3139d1af1bfa8363.png">A new version will be created and a success message will appear in the lower left hand corner of the screen.&nbsp;<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/ce5654653f01ca271d3f6f1a0b0c9416.png">Click&nbsp;Rename&nbsp;within the success message to quickly rename the new version.Opening the&nbsp;Version Control&nbsp;menu will now show you all versions of the document, and you can quickly switch between them to edit either version.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/a10fac8f85b121e10bc46411daa9d6f5.png"><h1>Changing the Status of a Version</h1>Each version of the document has it's own status, enabling you to change the status of a version independently.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/04074e64624446b1d4aecf3eb3908ae8.png">When you open up the version stack, you will see a small colored dot that correlates to the status of each version.<h1>Editing the Document Name &amp; Thumbnail</h1>To update a version name, select the version you want to edit from the&nbsp;Version Control&nbsp;menu, then click the&nbsp;Three Dot Menu&nbsp;in the top right of the screen, and select&nbsp;Edit Document.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/8242a15c13877125b08e6dbbb6b074d1.png">Update the&nbsp;Title&nbsp;to change the title of the current version.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/e4e98de834e95127dd219994c94bfb16.png">You can also upload a custom thumbnail by clicking&nbsp;Upload Photo.&nbsp;<h1>Deleting a Version</h1>To delete a version, click the&nbsp;Three Dot Menu&nbsp;in the top right of the screen, and select&nbsp;Delete This Version.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/2c9904f9b0b80c90dc32209c831c0ce2.png">On the confirmation message, select&nbsp;Delete&nbsp;to permanently delete this version.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/61471af74ed41c2f5c398589aae871ee.png"><blockquote>To learn how to leave feedback on a document, click <a href="https://assemble.productlane.com/docs/documents/leaving-feedback-on-documents" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="cursor-pointer box-border font-semibold border-b hover:border-b-[2px] transition-all duration-75 " style="text-decoration: none; color: inherit; border-color: var(--portal-accent-color);">here</a>.</blockquote>
